Hover

Hover moves the pointer over an element or a screen position without clicking. Use it to open hover menus, reveal tooltips and show controls that only appear on mouseover.

Use it ahead of any hover-only UI:

• Navigation menus that open on hover

• Tooltips and preview cards

• Row actions that appear on mouseover

Hover pairs well with Touch to click an item inside the menu it opens, and with Check Displayed or Check Text to confirm a tooltip shows the right content. Use Double Tap for controls that need a double click.
